The Executive Chairman of Odi- Olowo/ Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area, Honourable Seyi Jakande, has given Nigerians the assurance that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has all it takes to contest for a second term in office, citing ongoing efforts to reform Nigeria’s economy and improve governance.
Jakande, made this revelation recently during a media interview with some journalists in Lagos.
According to him, the tax reform regime for instance is established to help small business owners to grow.
He said the President’s commitment to repositioning the country and ensuring proper allocation of public funds justifies another term in office.
“When a person is determined to change the situation of things in Nigeria, such as fixing the country and fixing the economy, and the process has started, in my opinion, I will say that President Tinubu deserves a second term.”
He added that the administration is demonstrating accountability in the management of public resources.
“The President is carrying out his responsibilities very well by making sure that funds disbursed are properly allocated to the different arms of government”.
According to him, Tinubu has consistently urged subnational governments to ensure that funds are effectively utilised for the benefit of citizens.
“The President keeps appealing to heads of government in states and local government councils to utilise funds given to them so that the impact can be felt by the masses.”
In the same vein, Jakande highlighted efforts within his local government to align with this directive, particularly in the area of social welfare and education support.
“For me, in my local government, we have understood the significance of utilising funds for the welfare of our people, such as the launch of a free school programme ahead of school resumption, which entails providing free meals and free transportation for the pupils in twenty-seven primary schools.
The aim is to assist parents so that they will not have to spend much educating their children”, he said.
He urged Nigerians to take a broader view of the administration’s performance as the 2027 general election approaches.
“Nigerians should look at the positive side of President Ahmed Tinubu as he contests for a second term come 2027”, he added.
Jakande who also spoke on the All Progressives Congress Party’s just concluded e- registration said, the action would help to know the right members of the party.
