The Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has reinforced its collaboration with key industry stakeholders.
This is sequel to a strategic visit it made to International Breweries Plc, Ilesa, aimed at deepening compliance and boosting revenue generation.
Leading the delegation on Tuesday, 14th April 2026, the Acting Customs Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller Wale Moses Adewole, highlighted the critical role of excise factories in national revenue and economic stability. He stressed that strict adherence to existing excise laws remains essential to sustaining government fiscal objectives.
Adewole reaffirmed the Command’s dual mandate of facilitating legitimate trade while ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks. He also acknowledged the contributions of International Breweries Plc, particularly in job creation and its positive impact on the Command’s revenue profile.
In his welcome remarks, the Plant Manager, Mr. Emmanuel Onabanjo, described the engagement as both timely and productive. He reiterated the company’s commitment to maintaining transparency and complying fully with all statutory requirements, while sustaining a strong working relationship with the Nigeria Customs Service.
The visit created a platform for both parties to exchange insights, address operational concerns, and identify new opportunities for collaboration.
