During the homecoming ceremony, Senator Oluremi Tinubu called for greater unity among Nigerians, declaring that national prosperity can only thrive where citizens live and work together in harmony.

Addressing a large gathering at the palace, the First Lady urged the people to rise above differences and embrace peaceful coexistence.

Quoting Psalm 133:1–3, saying, “The Bible tells us that it is pleasant to dwell together in unity, for that is where God commanded blessings “, she told them.

She assured the people of continued government support and commended the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for what she described as commendable efforts in developing the state.

As part of her empowerment drive under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), the First Lady donated ₦50 million to support 1,000 women petty traders in the kingdom, reinforcing her commitment to grassroots economic development and women empowerment.

In his remarks, Governor Oborevwori noted that the First Lady had visited Delta State three times — twice while he was in a different political party and again after his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC). He described her visits as a demonstration of genuine love and sincerity toward Nigerians.

“She has a large heart,” the governor said, adding that her empowerment initiatives and the launch of the “Free to Shine” campaign in the state influenced his political decisions. He prayed for God’s continued strength upon her to keep uplifting Nigerians.

The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, also called on the people to let go of past grievances in order to achieve peace, progress and prosperity. He said the kingdom was proud of the First Lady and her accomplishments.

“We are proud of who you are and who you have become,” the monarch stated, commending her for being a positive example to women and girls.

Highlight of the visit was the conferment of the traditional title Utukpa-Oritse of Warri Kingdom, also known as Ugbone, meaning “The Light of God,” on Senator Oluremi Tinubu, whose mother hails from Warri in Delta State.

The event drew dignitaries, traditional leaders, women groups and residents who gathered in large numbers to celebrate the First Lady’s homecoming and recognition.
