President Donald Trump of The United States of America has sent mixed messages to China’s Xi Jinping, Russia’s Vladimir Putin, and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un on Wednesday 3, September 2025— while accusing them of conspiring against America.
“May President Xi and the wonderful people of China have a great and lasting day of celebration. Please give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un, as you conspire against The United States of America,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
The remarks came as Xi hosted a massive military parade in Beijing, showcasing hypersonic missiles, drones, and fighter jets in a display of strength. The event marked the 80th anniversary of Japan’s surrender in World War II but carried clear political undertones. It was the first time Xi, Putin, and Kim appeared together publicly, underlining what observers have called an emerging “Axis of Upheaval.”
Kremlin officials dismissed Trump’s accusations.
Foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov said no one was plotting against the US, adding that he hoped Trump’s remarks carried some irony.
Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov insisted the gathering was “for the greater good of the peoples of our countries, not against third countries.”
Despite this, Xi declared that China was “unstoppable” and urged the world to choose between peace and war, framing his vision as an alternative to the US-led global order.
Trump later struck a more relaxed tone in a radio interview, saying he was “not concerned at all” about China and Russia forming an alliance.
Still, Trump expressed disappointment in Putin for ignoring his efforts to arrange peace talks with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“I was very disappointed in President Putin,” he said, after Russia continued its strikes despite his outreach.
At the Beijing parade, Putin thanked Kim for sending North Korean troops to support Russia in Ukraine. Kim vowed to “do everything I can to assist” Moscow. Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian, whose country has supplied weapons to Russia, also attended.
In a follow-up Truth Social post, Trump reflected on history, noting the sacrifices of US soldiers in China during World War II.
“Many Americans died in China’s quest for Victory and Glory. I hope that they are rightfully Honored and Remembered for their Bravery and Sacrifice,” he wrote.
