The Lagos State Police Command has received additional operational assets from The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) to strengthen crime prevention and rapid response operations across the State.

 

 

This is In preparation for the official launch of the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) in Lagos State- one of the ongoing reforms of the Nigeria Police Force under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM,

 

 

In a statement by Police Public Relations Officer of the  Command- SP Abimbola Adebisi, the operational assets presented by LSSTF included:  two operational vehicles, fifty ballistic helmets, fifty bulletproof vests, and fifty ballistic shields aimed at enhancing the operational capacity, safety, and effectiveness of personnel of the newly established Unit.

 

 

Presenting the items on behalf of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund was the Executive Secretary, Dr Ayodele Ogunsan, who reiterated the Agency’s continued commitment to supporting security agencies in the State through the provision of critical operational equipment and logistics necessary for efficient policing and public safety.

 

 

Receiving the operational assets on behalf of the Lagos State Police Command, the Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai psc, expressed profound appreciation to the Lagos State Government and the Lagos State Security Trust Fund for their sustained support towards strengthening the security architecture in Lagos State.

 

 

 

He stated that the support will significantly boost the operational readiness of the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) and further enhance the Command’s capacity in combating violent crimes, ensuring rapid response to emergencies, safeguarding lives and property across Lagos State.

 

 

The Commissioner of Police further reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to effective policing, proactive crime prevention, and improved public safety in line with the reform agenda of the Nigeria Police Force.
