Six journalists die in Gombe-Yola Highway accident

Six journalists have been confirmed dead following a fatal road crash along the Gobe-Yola Road.

The victims were reportedly travelling for an assignment when the accident occurred in Gombe State.

The accident happened on Monday along the Gombe–Yola highway, a route that has recorded several deadly crashes in recent months.

The vehicle conveying the journalists was said to have lost control while in motion, leading to a ghastly crash that claimed six lives on the spot.

Several other occupants of the vehicle sustained varying degrees of injury and were immediately taken to nearby hospitals for medical attention.

 

Emergency responders and security officials were said to have arrived at the scene shortly after the crash to rescue survivors and clear the road for traffic.

The the identities of the deceased journalists have not been officially released.
