The recognition celebrates organizations making significant contributions to Nigeria’s economic and social development through innovation, sustainability, job creation, and measurable impact. Rite Foods was recognized for its role in advancing the food and beverage industry through investments in modern manufacturing infrastructure, technology, product innovation, and sustainable business practices.

The company’s selection also reflects its contribution to local value creation, employment, community development, environmental sustainability, and the broader growth of Nigeria’s fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.

Over the years, Rite Foods has built a distinctive portfolio of consumer brands, including Bigi Carbonated Soft Drinks, Bigi Premium Drinking Water, Sosa Fruit Drinks, Fearless Energy Drink, Rite Spicy Beef Sausage, Bigi Beef Sausage, and Bigi Flex Sausage. Through continuous product development, the company has introduced new flavours and packaging solutions designed to respond to changing consumer preferences while maintaining its focus on quality and accessibility.

According to Goddie Ofose, Editor-in-Chief and Chief Executive Officer of Industry Newspaper, the award recognises organisations that are contributing meaningfully to the transformation of Nigeria’s economic landscape.

“The Top 50 Companies of Impact recognition is designed to celebrate organizations whose activities demonstrate tangible economic, social, and environmental value. Rite Foods distinguished itself through its commitment to innovation, sustainability, environmental preservation, and community development.”

Ofose specifically highlighted the company’s environmental initiatives, including its Waste-Is-Naira (W.I.N.) programme and Riteonthebeach project, which focus on plastic waste recovery and environmental awareness.

He noted that the initiatives demonstrate how corporate sustainability programmes can extend beyond internal operations to address environmental challenges within communities.

The company’s energy strategy was also cited as an important part of its sustainability efforts. According to Ofose, 95 per cent of Rite Foods’ energy consumption is derived from cleaner energy sources, including natural gas and solar power, while diesel accounts for approximately five per cent of its energy mix. This approach, he said, has supported the company’s efforts to reduce its environmental footprint while improving operational efficiency.

He further commended Rite Foods’ corporate social responsibility initiatives in areas including education, healthcare, and economic empowerment, noting their contribution to community development across Nigeria.

Commenting on the recognition, Ekuma Eze, Head, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods Limited, said the recognition reflects the company’s broader commitment to creating value beyond its commercial operations.

“This honour is a reflection of the impact we are creating across multiple areas, from innovation and human capital development to community engagement, sustainability and support for initiatives that contribute to national development.”

Eze added that innovation remains central to Rite Foods’ strategy, noting that the company’s investments in product development and manufacturing capabilities have enabled it to respond to evolving consumer needs while strengthening its position within Nigeria’s competitive FMCG landscape.

“For us, innovation is not simply about introducing new products. It is about understanding consumers, investing in people and technology, improving our processes, and creating products and solutions that deliver value. This recognition reinforces our commitment to doing more.”

The latest laurel adds to a growing list of recognitions received by Rite Foods for its performance, leadership, innovation, and sustainability efforts.

The company says these recognitions reinforce its commitment to building a proudly Nigerian business with global standards, while continuing to invest in innovation, sustainability, people, communities, and the future of Nigeria’s consumer economy.
