The donation was formally commissioned during a well-attended ceremony held at the university, where Senator Tinubu was warmly received by cheering students and members of the academic community.

Speaking at the event, the First Lady reiterated her commitment to supporting education and youth development across the country, noting that access to safe and affordable transportation is critical to students’ academic success and overall wellbeing.

The highlight of the ceremony was the commissioning of the Oluremi Tinubu Dream Centre, a facility designed to support students’ development and innovation. Senator Tinubu officially cut the tape to inaugurate the centre, alongside the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.

Dignitaries present at the event included the Wife of the Osun State Governor, Mrs Titilola Adeleke; the Vice-Chancellor of OAU, Prof. Adebayo Bamire; former First Ladies of Osun State, Princess Omolola Oyinlola and Mrs Oyetola; Ekiti State First Lady, Prof. Oyebanji; Ondo State First Lady, Mrs Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa; and Oyo State First Lady, Engr. Tamunominini Makinde.

Others in attendance were the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Mallam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, traditional rulers, top government officials, university management, and student leaders.

During the ceremony, executives of the OAU Student Union presented a portrait of Senator Tinubu to her in appreciation of her contributions to the institution.

The First Lady, accompanied by the Ooni of Ife and the NITDA Director-General, also inspected various rooms and facilities within the Oluremi Tinubu Dream Centre.

University authorities described the intervention as timely, noting that the additional shuttle buses and tricycles would significantly ease mobility challenges on campus, while the Dream Centre would serve as a hub for innovation, learning, and student empowermen
