The stage for the auspicious occasion was set in December, 2025 when the families of The Late Chief (Engr. Dr.) Emmanuel and Eudora Iwuanyanwu, Pastor Uche Anthony and Dr. Nwadiuto Iheakanwa (Nee Iwuanyanwu) from Atta-Ikeduru LGA and Engineer Bertram and Mrs Happiness Nwaopara from Ubaheze -Orodo in Mbaitoli Local Government, all in Imo State-Nigeria came together to witness the traditional wedding ceremony of their children Ogechi and Chimdi on Saturday 27th.

Indeed, It was a moment of joy for the families whose children’s nuptials attracted the high and mighty in the society, as the traditional marital rights were embedded with rich cultural values.

 

The white wedding which took place on the 30th of December was a blast, because Nigeria’s big shots were in attendance.

 

The sacred union which was sealed in faith and love took place at The All Souls Anglican Church Lekki under the diocesan leadership of The Right Rev’d. Dr. Ifedola Senasu Gabriel Okupevi (FICAT) and The Venerable John Oghenekevwe Agboro-The Vicar & Archdeacon of Lekki,
The Revd. Bamidele Olayanju and The Venerable Uche Ekwensi served as members of the clergy.

 

The officiating priest while focusing his sermon on the day’s Bible Reading ( Genesis 2:18-24) preached on the need for the latest couple in town to trust each other as partners both in prayer and progress, because the two have become one.

 

Thereafter, all invited guests, family, friends, colleagues and associates made their way to The Lagos Oriental Hotel Victoria/Island, for the wedding reception.

 

The reception venue was a touch of class and elegance due to the relaxed ambience of the atmosphere that was electrifying, coupled with lots of continental and traditional delicacies prepared to serve the guests.

 

The grand entrance of the newly weds took the ceremony to a different dimension, as the bridesmaids, maids of honor and the groomsmen dazzled the guests with their beautiful dancing style, as the couple’s precursors who heralded their arrival.

 

Then came the auspicious moment, when the latest couple  in town were ushered to the ‘Sweetheart Table’ by the Emcees and later came the bridal dance, where the bride and groom shared the first dance. The father of the bride then danced with the bride and the groom also danced with his mother with demeanor and glamour.

 

Family members such as JideChukwu Iwuanyanwu (the eldest son of the Iwuanyanwu Dynasty) Chinedu Iwuanyanwu and Uluma Iheakanwa were up and about to ensure that everything was okay. Other invited guests also took time to dance with the couple, after which Jite one of the groomsmen gave a powerful speech to celebrate the new couple.

 

Some notable personalities who attended the ceremony were: The Chairman/CEO Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) -Mrs Abike Dabiri Erewa and her husband Mr. Segun Erewa, Politician and Former Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety (NIMASA) boss- Dr. Dakuku Peterside, Mrs Baraka S. Sheu, Honourable Nena Adimora, Lolo Rose Chukwu, Auto Magnate and and Chairman of INEH MIC Motors, who also doubles as Prime Minister (Iyase) of Okpoji and Atunwase 1 of Lagos -High Chief Sir Mike Inegbese with his beautiful wife-Yeye Atunwase, Lady Mary Assumpta Inegbese, Honourable Princess Nikky Ugochukwu- member representing Orumba South Local Government Area in Anambra South Senatorial District, Mrs Winnie Nwankwo, Dr Bukunola Odusanwo, Dr. Nwasi Ajoku, Mrs Joy Chinonyerem Emeghara who is a government policy and public affairs practitioner, Wife of The Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly- Mrs Abi, Azar Agbaso,Former Labour Party Governorship Aspirant in Lagos-Gbadebo Vivour -Rhodes and Lady Lotanna Uzoka- Group Managing Director Kennedia Group ACIPIM, MCIPM, FIMC, CMC among others.

 

Other guests were: The Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria South-East Region, Executive Director of Dozzy Oil and Gas Ltd. Founder of Association of Professional Women on Rural Development cum Chairman, Keystone Bank-Lady Ada Chukwudozie,  A Nigerian Lawyer cum Chairman/ CEO of Brittania-U Nigeria Ltd-Mrs Catherine Uju Ifejika, An Abuja based Socialite, Philanthropist and Chairman of Bluewave Exploration and Production Ltd. Dr. Mrs Aisha Adole Sulaiman Achimugu, Founding Executive Director-Doveland Group of Schools Abuja, Chief Mrs Tina Chukwu, The First Female Licensed Stockbroker in Nigeria and MD/CEO Futureview Financial Services-Mrs Elizabeth Ngozi Ebi and The Hospitality Guru and Chairman at Safron Hotels and Hotel Classio -Chief Bayo Fatusin.

 

Also, Mrs Patience Lum Mafe-An evangelist of The Gospel and A Senior Manager at Tropical General Investment Group (TGI) along with The First NPA Port Manager in Rivers State- Chief Mrs Carol Ufere were in attendance to give their motherly support to the newly wedded couple, with numerous family members and relatives in attendance.

 

Indeed, The wedding of the grandson of the late elder statesman Chief (Engr. Dr.) Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu- Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo, who was also The President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide; will for a long time be the talk of the town because it was an alloy of tradition and glamour which will definitely remain indelible in people’s minds.
