Operatives of The Lagos State Police Command, Tactical Team Isheri, have successfully dismantled a car theft syndicate with the arrest of four suspects and the recovery of a stolen Toyota Hiace Bus.

This is sequel to  a report received on the 1st of August 2025 by the police concerning a suspected case of car theft involving one Salisu Ibrahim Abdullahi ‘m’ aged 31.

According to a statement issued over the weekend by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command swiftly acted on the report by deploying detectives who used intelligence-driven techniques to bring about the arrest of the principal suspect, Salisu Ibrahim Abdullahi, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Further investigation led to the arrest of three accomplices: Yenusa Salihu ‘m’ aged 45, a mechanic; Baba Jero Idris ‘m’ aged 49, a car dealer and Abdullahi Aliyu ‘m’ aged 41, a businessman. All three were apprehended in Kano State, and the operation also resulted in the recovery of the stolen grey Toyota Hiace bus in the same location.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, while commending the operatives for their swift and intelligence-led approach that led to dismantling of the car theft syndicate, said that the suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of the ongoing investigations.

 

He also assured visitors and residents of Lagos State that the Command will continue to deploy cutting-edge policing strategies to curb vehicle theft and bring criminal elements to justice, the statement said.
