The Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa, has been formally conferred with the distinguished Fellowship of the Institute for Tourism Professionals of Nigeria (ITPN), the nation’s highest recognition for leadership and commitment to excellence in the tourism and hospitality sector. The award, which bestows the coveted designation Fellow of the Institute (FITPN), affirms the Minister’s steadfast dedication to advancing Nigeria’s tourism landscape in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The ITPN delegation, led by its National President, Chief Abiodun Odusanwo, FITPN, and accompanied by the Chairperson of the Abuja FCT Chapter, Mrs. Fatima Obadaki, FITPN, alongside other executive members, paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister in Abuja to formally present the Fellowship award and discuss areas of collaboration with the Ministry.

In his remarks, Chief Odusanwo described the Fellowship as a recognition reserved for individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to professional standards, institutional growth, and national development through tourism. He noted that the Honourable Minister’s transformative vision for culture, tourism, and the creative economy has inspired renewed confidence in the sector, making her a deserving recipient of the Fellowship.

The visit also provided an opportunity to deliberate on strengthening professional training and certification across Nigeria’s hospitality and tourism workforce. Both parties explored frameworks for collaboration in capacity building, accreditation, and international best practices, with the shared goal of elevating service delivery and competitiveness of Nigeria’s tourism industry on the global stage.

Accepting the Fellowship with gratitude, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa expressed appreciation to the Institute for the honour and pledged the Ministry’s continued partnership in nurturing professionalism, innovation, and youth empowerment within the sector. She emphasised that aligning training, certification, and career development with international standards will not only empower practitioners but also contribute significantly to job creation, sustainable growth, and national prosperity.

She further noted that the Fellowship represents a call to deeper responsibility and renewed commitment to ensuring that Nigeria’s cultural wealth and tourism assets are harnessed strategically to create enduring value for communities, investors, and visitors alike.

The Institute for Tourism Professionals of Nigeria (ITPN) is the premier awarding and certification body dedicated to fostering excellence across Nigeria’s diverse hospitality sector. Through advocacy, training, and professional accreditation, ITPN continues to strengthen standards and inspire best practices within the tourism and hospitality industry.
