‎The directive, which covers all states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, mandates Commissioners of Police and Tactical Commanders to implement robust security arrangements aimed at ensuring a peaceful festive period.

‎Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Okon Placid, said the operational measures include the strategic deployment of tactical teams, intelligence operatives, and the mobilisation of the Special Intervention Squad alongside conventional police personnel.

‎“The Inspector-General of Police has ordered comprehensive security deployments nationwide, including the positioning of tactical units and intelligence assets at worship centres, critical infrastructure, highways, and other public spaces,” Placid said.

‎He added that the police would intensify visibility policing and coordinated patrols throughout the Easter period.

‎“There will be heightened visibility policing, enhanced surveillance operations, and intelligence-led stop-and-search duties to proactively deter criminal activities and ensure swift response to any emerging threats,” he stated.

‎According to him, motor parks, recreational centres, and other high-traffic locations will witness increased police presence to guarantee hitch-free celebrations.

‎Placid further conveyed the IGP’s Easter message to Christians across the country, noting that the season calls for reflection, peace, and unity.

‎“The Inspector-General extends warm felicitations to Christian faithful on the observance of Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday, urging all Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of sacrifice, love, and peaceful coexistence,” he said.

‎He also called on members of the public to support security agencies by remaining alert and reporting suspicious activities.

‎“The Nigeria Police Force urges citizens to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movement or activity to the nearest police station or through the designated emergency lines,” Placid added.

‎The police assured that adequate measures have been put in place to ensure a secure environment before, during, and after the Easter celebrations.
