‘How can you accuse me of murder and still want to marry me?’ – Chris Okafor asks Doris Ogala

The founder of Mountain of Liberty and Miracle Ministry Chris Okafor,  has addressed the controversy involving actress Doris Ogala.

At a press conference held recently, Okafor questioned the contradictions in the allegations against him.

He also asked why someone who accused him of killing her brother is also asking him to marry her.

“The same person who accused me of murder is the same person crying that I want to abandon her and marry someone else. How could she want to marry someone who allegedly killed her brother?” he asked.

“There is so much about the matter than meets the ordinary eye, and so many unanswered questions and glaring lies”, he said.

He also addressed the issue of his ex-wife and Chi Okafor, the lady who claimed to be his biological daughter and alleged that he abandoned her and her siblings.

Okafor said he had never met Chi before and also accused his ex-wife of paying a blogger to demand financial compensation from him.

“The allegations were coming from a woman I never met. Then my ex-wife joined and came up with my allegedly trying to defile one of our daughters,” he added.

The same ex-wife and daughter have gone to a popular blogger to ask that I pay for their school fees and upkeep abroad of about N80 million. The same father trying to defile them? Which woman will do that?”

Okafor said the controversies began after details of his remarriage were leaked by his wedding planner, creating room for multiple parties to “cash in” on the situation.

He also revisited his divorce, which he said was finalised in 2014 at an Ikeja court, noting that the allegations now being raised were never mentioned during the legal proceedings.

“At no point during the proceedings did my ex-wife mention I was trying to defile our daughter. The court awarded me custody of our children, and no one queried those allegations! If, as a pastor, I can survive these lies, what happens to an average Nigerian?”, he questioned.

Recall that the conflict between Ogala and Okafor began weeks back, after a video of the pastor’s engagement to Pearl Okafor surfaced online.

Ogala alleged she had been in a romantic relationship with Okafor since 2017. She claimed she ended her previous marriage at his urging and accused him of betraying her after years of intimacy and repeated promises of marriage.

The actress later issued an ultimatum, demanding that Okafor either marry her or compensate her financially, escalating to a demand of N1 billion in damages over breach of promise.

She had also claimed that Okafor was complicit in the poisoning and death of her brother.

Despite the threat and outburst, Okafor got married to Pearl in a white and traditional wedding ceremony.

Okafor initially described Ogala’s backlash as “the devil’s anger” over his public marital happiness.

However, days later, he publicly knelt and apologised to Ogala, acknowledging the truth of her claims regarding their past relationship.
