It was a confluence of different kinds of people at The Civic Center in Lagos, when Dr. Ayo Ogunsan-a board member of The Lagos State Security Trust Fund ( LSSTF) celebrated his 50th birthday on Sunday 12th October, 2025 with pomp and pageantry; using gospel hymns and songs to express gratitude to God for His Grace and enduring Mercies in his life.
The colourful gathering which attracted the who is who in the society took a different dimension when the celebrant -Dr A Ayo Ogunsan took the center stage to give a special rendition to God for The uncommon Grace and Favour bestowed on him in his lifetime.
Dr. Ogunsan while recounting his journey so far said, God’s Mercies and Grace were his fortress during his formative years.
He was particularly elated to see the founder of Premier Lotto -Sir Chief Kessington Adebukunola Adebutu a.k.a Baba Ijebu whom he said played a vital role in his life as one of his greatest benefactors.
While eulogizing Sir Kessington’s cheerful and selfless service to humanity on the podium, he gave a rendition -‘Ore Ofe Sha’ in his honour.
Dr. Ogunsan also seized the opportunity to wish the old sage a happy 90th birthday in advance, with the belief that God would surely look upon Baba Ijebu with Mercy due to his many philanthropic contributions to mankind.
Different distinguished guests present at the occasion took their time to pray and pour encomiums on Dr. Ogunsan for his many contributions to the society. One of such persons was The Commissioner of Police, Lagos Command-CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh. He reminisced about the first time he became the CP Lagos Command.
According to him, Dr. Ogunsan was one of the people who called and gave him the assurance, that he would do everything in his capacity to support his efforts in making Lagos a safe place for habitation.
The Consul General of The Peoples Republic of China in Lagos -Yang Yanging also spoke about the many good qualities of the celebrant.
In the same vein , The Chairman JB Farms cum CEO of Premier Lotto Jibola Adebutu took the center stage to celebrate Dr. Ogunsan for his achievements and immense contributions to human capacity development.
Each member of the family later took time to sing a special number to appreciate God’s Goodness in Dr Ayo Ogunsan’s life.
The first person was Seun Ogunsan, then Joy Ogunsan who sang Eledumare and the other members of the family followed suit.
The stage was charged when the wife of the celebrant – Dr Ajoke Ogunsan mounted the podium for her special numbers. Guests were dazzled with her melodious voice as she stole the spotlight by singing more than five songs to the Glory of God.
Roll Call of guests included top government officials such as The Honourable Commissioners for Health and Youth & Social Development -Professor Akin Abayomi and Mr. Mobolaji Abubakre Ogunlende, SA to The Governor on Media-Mr Gboyega Akosile and SA to Mr Governor on Climate Change -Mrs Titi Oshodi among others.
Top Security Chiefs who established their presence included : AIG Zone 2, Lsgos and Ogun States -Fayoade Adegoke, AIG FCID Alagbon-Margret Ochala, AIG Lanre Ishola, Rtd. DIG Adeleke and Wife, Rtd. AIG Lanre Bankole and Wife, DPO Mancenter Division -Elijah Ayo, DPO Ikeja Division -CSP Taiwo Akinwunmi and The DPO Apapa Division -SP Kamal Momoh among others.
Other notable personalities that graced the occasion were : The Onisan of Isan Ekiti and his Olori-HRM Oba Gabriel Adejuwon, Chairman and Chief Medical Director of Diamed Hospitals Lagos and his wife -Dr. and Mrs Olorode as well as Deacon Sylvester Ebodagha to mention but a few.
The celebrant along with other members of his family later cut the ceremonial cake to the Glory of God.
Recall that the Gospel Hymns and Songs Birthday Concert is an annual event organized by the family, to commemorate Dr. Ogunsan’s birthday. This year’s concert tagged 5.0 is the fifth in the annual series of praise and worship ceremonies. It was a platform to celebrate God’s Goodness in Dr. Ogunsan’s life.
