AIG Zone 2 Receives Delegation from Shandong Provincial Public Security Department, China on an Official Working Visit

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, has hosted a delegation from the Shandong Provincial Public Security Department, People’s Republic of China, on an official working visit to the Zone 2 Headquarters, Lagos.

According to DSP Afolayan Gbenga, Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 2 Headquarters, the delegation, led by the Deputy Director of Daily Operations at the Shandong Provincial Public Security Department, Mr. Zhang Yuebo, was warmly received by the AIG in the company of members of the management team and other senior police officers in the Zone.

The visit forms part of ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening international police collaboration, sustaining the existing cordial bilateral relationship, and enhancing strategic partnerships in the areas of security management, intelligence sharing, and capacity building.

The leader of the Chinese delegation, Mr. Zhang Yuebo, appreciated the warm reception accorded his team and reaffirmed the commitment of the Shandong Provincial Public Security Department to strengthening professional exchanges and collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force.

 

He emphasized the importance of international partnerships in combating transnational crimes, promoting intelligence sharing, and enhancing capacity building initiatives.

 

In his remarks, the AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh expressed appreciation and delight over the visit, describing it as a significant step towards strengthening the existing cordial relationship between the Nigeria Police Force, Zone 2 Command Headquarters and the Shandong Provincial Public Security Department, which has existed since 2019.

 

He noted that the visit would further promote collaboration in areas such as transnational crime prevention, cybercrime prevention, counter-terrorism strategies, and other emerging security challenges.

 

 

The AIG also conveyed the warm regards of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, to the delegation. He reaffirmed the commitment of Zone 2 Headquarters to modern policing strategies anchored on professionalism, intelligence-driven policing, community partnership, respect and protection of human rights, technological innovation, capacity building, and international collaboration.

 

AIG Olohundare Jimoh further appreciated the Shandong Provincial Public Security Department for its immense support and benevolence, particularly its commitment towards the training of officers attached to Zone 2 Headquarters, comprising Lagos and Ogun State Police Commands.

 

He stressed that the training programmes have significantly enhanced the operational capacity and professionalism of officers in the discharge of their duties within the Nigeria Police Force.

 

The visit also featured strategic discussions and exchange of ideas on modern policing techniques, international best policing practices, and avenues for future cooperation between both law enforcement institutions.

The Zone 2 Police Command remains resolute in fostering productive partnerships with both local and international institutions and stakeholders in the collective pursuit of peace, security, and safety of residents of Lagos and Ogun States.
