Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and supporters of Honourable Abdul Hameed Salawu (Dullar) gathered at Shepherd Hill Open Ground, Obanikoro on the 14th of May, 2026 for his official flag-off campaign ahead of the House of Representatives primary election.
It was the gathering of the titans as the rally brought together party faithful, grassroots mobilizers, women groups, market leaders, youths, artisans, religious leaders, and stakeholders who threw their weight on the former chairman of Somolu Local Government for the national job.
According to Dullar who expressed his desire to represent the Somolu-Bariga constituency at the National Assembly , “My ambition was inspired by a passion to continue with the service to the people which is built on the achievements recorded during my tenure as chairman”.
He pledged to prioritize youth and women empowerment, job creation, healthcare, education support, and infrastructural development if elected into the House of Representatives.
Salawu also urged APC members to participate peacefully in the party’s primary election, while maintaining unity, discipline and loyalty.
Many described the grassroots politician as people centric especially for his leadership style, accessibility, and commitment to good governance.
Recall that Honourable Salawu’s administration made a great impact in his community as the chairman viis-a-vis infrastructure development such as road construction, empowerment initiatives, educational support programmes and youth-focused interventions.
