The Awuse of Onigbongbo Kingdom-His Royal Magesty , Oba Oluwasegun Adeyemi Ajasa -Olaside 1 has celebrated his five years on the throne of his fathers on the 24th of August, 2025 with pomp and pageantry.
The ceremony which started with traditional rites culminated with the bestowing of chieftaincy titles on some sons and daughters of Onigbongbo Land, who had contributed to the growth of the kingdom.
The celebration gathered momentum on Sunday, 24th of August; when Obas, top government functionaries, sons and daughters of Onigbongbo land, well wishers from far and near came to the Awuse’s Palace to pay him homage.
The Lagos State House of Assembly Member representing Ikeja Constituency 2-Honourable Seyi Lawal was one the people that came to the palace to pay homage to his magesty.
In a chat with Khal-El Media, the honourable who congratulated the Oba for coming this far, vowed to do everything in his power to complement the revered Oba in his efforts to bring sanity to Onigbongbo Land.
Some of the royal fathers who came to felicitate with Oba Ajasa, The Awuse of Onigbongbo Kingdom and members of The Olaside Royal Dynasty of Onigbongbo included: The Alara of Ilara Kingdom in Epe- Oba (Dr.) Olukayode Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, The Oniba Ekun of Iba Land, Oba Sulaimon Adeshina Raji Ashade 1, also known as Jafo Authority who also celebrated his enthronement anniversary recently, Onilado of Ilado, The Oloregun of Oregun, Oba (Dr.) Adewunmi Adeniji Odutala, among others.
Other people who came to pay homage him were: The Chairmen of Onigbongbo and Ikeja LCDA and LG respectively, DCP Khan Salihu from Lagos State Police Command, Eze indigbo and his cabinet, residents of Onigbongbo, family members, different tribal communities, different clubs, associations and market men and women as well as numerous well wishers among others.
The high point of the event was the different cultural displays from the various groups.
The the theme for this year’s celebration was: “ Onigbongbo-A Kingdom on steady development pathway”.
