It was a celebration of life for the late Professor Mrs Oyinade Wuraola Elebute, who bid her final farewell to the world on Friday 26th of September, 2025 in order to be with her creator; as her family members, friends and colleagues gathered to celebrate her beautiful soul gained by Heaven for eternity.
The programme of event for her final journey to the great beyond started with a Christian Wake Service at Harbour Point Event Centre on Thursday 25th of September, where crème de la crème in the society converged to celebrate the sterling qualities of the late Professor.
The funeral service which was held at the Chapel of Transfiguration at The Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) was presided over by the officiating priests – Ven Dr. Dade Sadare ( Rector of Chapel of Transfiguration), Rev Joseph Awosanya, Rev Ademola Agbeleye and Rev Canon Deji Awe-Resident Ministers all of whom are under Rt. Rev Babatunde C. Akinpelu Johnson-the Diocesan Bishop of Mainland Diocese.
The Rector of the Chapel-Ven. Dr. Dade Sadare in his preaching eulogized the many virtues of the late Professor of Medicine. According to him, Professor Dr. Elebute was a virtuous woman, who managed her career, home and heavenly race well, which was worthy of emulation.
Dr. Sadare further enjoined those at the service to make God their priority, in the midst of all things in life; just as the late Elebute did.
Consequently, after the body of the deceased was committed to Mother Earth, The family members led by her son Mr. Olakunle Elebute entertained the guests at The Harbour Point Event Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Some dignitaries at the event included: Businessman and Oil Magnate-Aliko Dangote, Fmr. Senate President of Nigeria, Senator Olubokola Saraki, Alhaja Chief Gbajabiamila and Honourable Olufunmilayo Tejuosho among others.
The late Professor (Mrs) Oyinade Wuraola who was born on the 16 of February 1934, died on the 13th of September, 2025 at the age of 92 years.
