The All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter In Lagos State has reiterated its unflinching support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, vowing to deliver an even greater mandate for him in the 2027 general elections.

This was made manifest at the Lagos APC Stakeholders’ Forum 2025, held in Lagos at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island.

The event attracted all the party stalwarts in the  state, including the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, former governors Babatunde Raji Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode, Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and his wife Oluremi Hamzat, Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, as well as federal and state lawmakers, local council chairmen, and party faithful from all the 57 local governments and Local Council Development Areas in the state.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in his keynote remarks, described President Tinubu as a reform-driven statesman whose economic and governance agenda is steadily repositioning Nigeria for a sustainable growth.

“From infrastructure renewal to investment-friendly policies, President Tinubu is driving the rebuilding of our national economy,” Sanwo-Olu said. “As his political home, Lagos must remain the beacon of progressivism and loyalty, setting the pace for others to follow”, he said.

Sanwo-Olu urged APC members across wards and local councils to begin early mobilization and voter sensitization, stressing that Lagos must not only maintain its political dominance but also lead in grassroots-driven governance.

As the governor declared in his closing remarks, “Lagos will continue to lead from the front. Our unity is our strength, and our loyalty remains unshakable.”

In the same vein, The Former Governor of the State Babatunde  Raji Fashola (S.A.N) underscored the importance of fairness and recognition within the party, emphasizing that members who have remained steadfast deserve appreciation and empowerment.

“When party loyalty is ignored, enthusiasm fades,” he cautioned. “Our strength lies in rewarding hard work, because politics is ultimately about people”, he added.

Fashola  went further to highligh the growing challenge of voter apathy, particularly among the youth, urging the APC to launch robust civic engagement programs ahead of the 2027 polls.

In his remarks, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, Chairman of the Lagos APC Governance Advisory Council (GAC), reminded elected officials that political legitimacy comes from the people.

“No leader should lose touch with those who voted them into power,” he said. “Public trust is sustained through accessibility, humility, and visible leadership”, Olusi concluded.

The APC State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, announced several new initiatives aimed at deepening grassroots participation. He revealed that ₦20 million would be awarded to the local government area that records the highest increase in voter registration, while ₦5 million would go to the best-performing ward.

He also disclosed plans to refund council aspirants who lost in the last primary elections, emphasizing fairness and inclusivity.

“We are one united family,” Ojelabi said. “Those who made sacrifices for our success must be recognized. The days of leaving loyal members behind are over”, he said.

Representing the APC National Chairman, Dr. Ajibola Basiru commended the Lagos chapter for its consistency and internal order, describing Lagos as the “heartbeat of progressive politics in Nigeria.”
He encouraged members to showcase the achievements of the Renewed Hope Agenda, engage citizens constructively, and counter misinformation as the 2027 elections draw nearer.

“Our story must be told with clarity and confidence,” Basiru said. “Lagos has demonstrated what visionary governance can achieve. That example should now inspire a nationwide resurgence of faith in the APC”, he explained.

High point of the event was when party leaders pledged renewed loyalty to President Tinubu and to the ideals of progressivism.
