Senate President Godswill Akpabio, State Governors and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe, had a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja during a visit to him on Thursday.
The APC Chairman in his address to newsmen disclosed that the meeting focused on preparations for the party’s congresses and national convention.
According to him, “it is important for all stakeholders in the party to be on the same page for the crucial assignment ahead of the 2027 elections”, he said .
“It was just a brief meeting to review the preparation for the convention and the congresses and the synergy between all arms of government, so we can be on one page, and I think we achieved everything we wanted to achieve in the course of doing that,” Goshwe said.
“Mr President, as you know, is a politician, very experienced, and his advice was remarkable, and I think that’s why we are here today,” he added.
Some of the Governors who attended the meeting were Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq of Kwara and Bassey Otu of Cross River State.
Also in attendance were Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila and other chieftains of the APC.
