The entire management and staff of The General Hospital Somolu gathered together at on the 20th of July, 2026 to send forth the Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer of the facility-Dr. Mustapha Adebola Quadri after attaining the statutory age of 60 years and having spent over 30 years in active service.
The Pavilion of The National Orthopedic Hospital Igbobi-Lagos was filled to capacity as commission members, Directors from The Health Service Commission, his friends of over 50 years, colleagues, family members and well wishers came together to felicitate with him at his meritorious retirement from active service.
The Permanent Secretary, Health Service Commission, Dr. Olufemi Motunolani Omololu in his remarks lauded the many contributions the celebrant had made in the Lagos State Health Sector.
He was particularly impressed at his level of professionalism in his role as a consultant, surgeon and a medical director in the different state owned hospitals that he had worked.
Similarly, the commission members beginning with the Chairman: Dr. Oguntimehin Olukayode Olumuyiwa and other members vis-a-vis Dr. Ogboye Olusegun Abayomi Commissioner I, Dr. Odunuga Omolaja Odushola, Commissioner II, Pharm. Dr. Adejumo Moyosore Wuraola, Commissioner III and Dr. (Mrs.) Fadipe Ololade Omolayo, Commissioner IV all took their time to speak about his outstanding achievements in the field.
Also , The Chairman of The MD/CEOs’ Forum who is also The MD/CEO of The General Hospital Ikorodu, Dr. Taiwo Kamorudeen Hassan as well as other Medical Directors took their time to eulogize the efforts the celebrator put into the medical profession.
In the same vein, his classmates cum friends from the early 70s were on ground to support him on his special day.
Directors from The Health Service Commission were also on ground to make the day a memorable one for him.
High point of the event was the cutting of the ceremonial cake and having a group photograph with the distinguished guests at the event.
Recall that Dr. Mustapha Adebola Quadri who was born on the 20th of July 1966 in Ibadan has worked with different Lagos State Government Hospitals, before he retired from active service at The General Hospital Somolu, as The Medical Director/ Chief Executive Officer on the 20th of July, 2026 at the age sixty.
