Transport Day Media has organised its annual Nigeria Transport Lecture on the 18th of June, 2026 at The Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja-Lagos.
The event which was the 12th in the series was an opportunity for stakeholders to address issues related to transportation safety in Nigeria.
The keynote address for the annual event themed: “Intermodal Transportation Safety In Nigeria: Prospects, Challenges and Contributions to National Growth “ was delivered by the President and Chairman in Council of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), who was also the former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)-Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi and his address was focused on how transportation safety can be improved upon in the modes of transport in Nigeria.
Also, Dr. Segun Musa –Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Widescope Group, Professor Ogochukwu Ugboma – Dean of The Lagos State University School of Transport and Logistics (LASUSOTAL), were some of the speakers at the event.
They all gave a positive outlook on the many prospects inherent in multi-modal transportation systems in Nigeria.
Other aspects of the event included the awards ceremony where notable people in the industry were recognized for their immense contributions to the development of the sector.
One of the award recipients was The President of The Martime Reporters’ Association of Nigeria ( MARAN) who is also the Assistant Editor of Shipping Position Daily-Nr. Oluyinka Onigbinde.
He received “The Maritime Reporter of The Year Award”, for his immense contributions to maritime journalism.
