It was a memorable day for family, friends, colleagues, associates and well-wishers of the late Chief Architect Olufemi Majekodunmi who gathered together on the 13th of June, 2026 at Our Saviour’s Church, to bid the doyen of modern
architecture in Nigeria farewell.
The clergymen that presided at the funeral service were; The Revd. Uchenna Nwanonyoba, The Revd. Canon Akintunde Idowu, The Revd. Canon Asoliye Douglas-West, The Ven. Bola Osinupe and The Van. Samuel Adurofagbaje, under The Vicar and Archdeacon of Ikoyi – Ven. Folorunso OreOluwa Agbelusi and The Diocesan Bishop of Lagos-The Rt. Revd. Ifedola Senasu Gabriel Okupevi.
The clergy took time to comfort those who mourn, with the hope that al humans will meet again at the Feet of Jesus Christ at the resurrection day.
After the interment, guests were later entertained at the prestigious Harbor Point Event Center in Victoria Island, Lagos.
There were lots of sumptuous food and drinks for everyone. There was also a live band to thrill the guests.
Some of the personalities present were the prominent Nigerian real estate mogul, billionaire, and philanthropist, who founded and the Chairman of Gibraltar Construction Nigeria Limited -Chief (Sir) Olu Okeowo, his beautiful wife Lady Adejoke Okeowo and Dr. Bukunola “Nola” Odusanwo among others.
Indeed the Majekodunmi families of Egba Land (owners of St Nicholas Hospital, Lagos) will dearly miss him.
The Lukotun of Egba was born on 1st May 1940 and he departed to the great beyond on the 5th of June, 2026.
He left behind family, friends associates and numerous relations to mourn him.
