In a statement issued by the state command, it refuted the allegations in some quarters that say some Police Personnel are supporting one Political Party against the other.

The statement said that such allegation is completely false, misleading and a disservice to the Lagos State Police Command.

To this effect, The Command has deployed a joint  teams of conventional police, the tactical squads and anti riot police units to patrol the entire area of ALIMOSHO Local Government Area and other parts of Lagos State for Crime Prevention and Control as well as to nip in the bud; any likely disturbance of public peace and safety throughout the State.

According to the Statement, This deployment which started on the 4th of September, 2025  and beyond, is aimed at protection of lives and property of the people in the affected area and remove the fear of crime from the minds of the people. As these are clearly part of the constitutional mandates of the Nigerian Police Force; in terms of maintenance of law and order, protection of lives and property, and ensuring public peace across the State.

For the avoidance of doubt, the Command stated categorically that, up until the moment, there has not been any complaint or report by any Political party or any individual at any Police Station anywhere in ALIMOSHO LGA or any other Police formation throughout Lagos State regarding any attack or counter attack on any person or group of persons or on property throughout ALIMOSHO LGA or in any other location in Lagos State.

The statement further revealed that The Police teams deployed to assist in maintaining law and order are professionals who provided adequate security and protection to all no atom of party politics.

The Deputy Police Public Relations Officer -DSP Babaseyi  B. Oluseyi who issued the statement on behalf of the CP said, “At no time did Police officers from the Lagos State Police Command provide cover for any of the Political Party member(s), in order to attack members of the opposition Party as claimed in a report”, he said.

The statement further indicated that The Police will continue to remain neutral, impartial and very professional, with no alignment to any political interest but strictly to its constitutional responsibilities of maintenance of law and order in the State.

The Statement further stated that The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Olohundare Jimoh, operates an open-door policy and urges political stakeholders and residents to channel genuine complaints to the police rather than resort  to mischief and blackmail to mislead the public, as he assures that all credible complaints will be promptly and fairly addressed.

The statement added that The Commissioner of Police has appealed to Lagosians to remain law-abiding and go about their duties and other responsibilities without fear or apprehension, as the entire State is peaceful, while reiterating the Command’s commitment to fairness, professionalism, and integrity in the collective interest of public safety and security of the good people of Lagos state.
