Rotary Club International Organises Public Image Seminar In Lagos

The Rotary Club International District 9112 has organized its annual public image seminar in Lagos, with the theme -“Beyond D Logo: Building A Compliant And Impactful Rotary Image”.

The Y2025 seminar was held on Tuesday, 26th August at The Keystone Bank Hall of The Rotary Centre in GRA, Ikeja.

The District Governor and Chief Host Lanre Adedoyin while declaring the seminar open explained, that the essence of the meeting was to equip Rotarians with tools for the strengthening and promotion of the organization’s visibility and credibility in Nigeria.

The Former Presidential Spokesman and Arise News Anchor, Dr. Reuben Abati who was the keynote speaker emphasized on the need for strategic media engagement for the advancement of Rotary International in Nigeria.

According to him, “it is important for Rotary to have a good social media handler for an impressive digital presence; in order to widen the scope of its operations”, he said.

Abati further added that there is need for Rotary Club International to focus on achieving results rather than having a large number of people who engage in social gatherings without results.

The District Governor Nominee for Rotary Club International District 9111 -Dr. Samuel Ayetutu while fielding questions from the media revealed that since its inception in 1905 in Illinois Chicago, The United States of America, the club has continued to lots of value to the society.

“The club is one of the foremost international organizations in the world and it has been able to spread its tentacles across the globe, driven by its vision and mission of making a positive impact on its host communities”, Dr, Ayetutu explained.

He further said that the legacy projects of the club in the various communities in Nigeria and by extension the world over are phenomenal and sustainable which include: support for schools, building of hospitals, support for market men and women among others.

Ayetutu who particularly rated this year’s seminar as phenomenal and the best he has so far attended, expressed satisfaction in the presentations and the manner in which the planning committee organized it.

He stated that the essence of the seminar annually is to ensure that Rotarians are furnished with the right information and tools to help their activities and brand resonate the world over, regardless of the time and place.

Ayetutu reiterated that one of the criteria for becoming a Rotarian is that, the individual must have the mindset to give, even in the midst of scarcity. “This encapsulates the fact about the club’s mantra-United For Good “, he said.

One of the speakers at the seminar- Rotarian Achime Arinze from the Rotary Club of Ikoyi Metropolis while speaking with Khal-El Media laid emphasis on the significance of website creation in all the districts.

According to him, this would help Rotarians understand how to use the club’s logo to promote the brand in a positive light.

When asked if the brand is still alive, he replied that the master plan of the club encapsulates what it stands for -“charity, capacity building”, among others.

Arinze added that the club over the years has been able to make bold moves that are timeless such that, generations to come will still use them as a reference point.

Other speakers at the event were: Mr. John Senaya, Miss Joy Obinyan, Mr Oromena Osugo and the Chairman, District Public Image Committee-Ehi Braimah who gave an overview of The Nigerian Media Landscape.

While, The Rotary Public Image Coordinator for Africa Zone 22, Region 27-Ibim Semenitari as  well as The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of The Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN) Dr. Nkechi Ali-Balogun served as guests speakers at the event.

High point of the seminar was the induction of some prominent members of the society into the prestigious Rotary Club International,  with the vision and mission of uniting together for the good of humanity.
